Week 62: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: This week we were able to attend a sealing of the spunkiest family in our Ward. They were baptized about 2 years ago. They’re a couple, about 26 years old with two kiddos. The mom grew up in an orphanage and doesn’t know her family. They are the perfect example of a family whos life has completely changed through the gospel! Every time we call them to offer help or anything the dad answers and says, “What do you want?!”. Haha when we asked them about their sealing date the dad told us he didn’t pass and it was not going to happen… MER he’s always pulling my leg. But hearing them share their testimonies of how the gospel had completely changed their lives melted my heart. I was bursting with happiness for them! This week we went to visit a jovencita. Her dad opened the door for us and invited us in. He is SUPER active in his church and basically just wanted to bash us. As we were listening to him tell us that the Book of Mormon was all about Joseph Smith his daught...

Things I love: EASTER. I truly love Easter. I remember even before the mission I loved the spirit of easter! My mom always did good job of making it spiritual and fun for us as kiddos. It was a little strange that hardly anyone celebrated it here. A little bit sad. BUT we went and visited one of our recent convert families. They have been struggling A LOT. When we walked into their house they two little girls were balling. WHAT?! I was so confused. When we looked at their t.v. they were watching videos about Jesucristo – about easter. Wahh it was such a humbling experience to see the spirit they were able to feel and the love they had for their Savior. We went EXPLORING! Again. It was the best. I love my area. My area is full of flowers. And hippies. And mountains. I love that on Mondays we can just drive up (wellll take a trufi up) into the mountains!   This week there was an open house in the mission home! We were able to take our investigators and it was such an incred...

Week 60: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: The cutest little 4 year old boy told me that at school his teacher had asked him to draw a picture. She gave him a white piece of paper and told him to draw something. When she came back and saw the white paper she asked him what he had drawn. He said that he had drawn a cow eating grass. The teacher asked where the grass was and the little boy said the cow had eaten it. Then the teacher asked where the cow was and the little boy said the cow had gone to the bathroom. HA How did I never think of these things when I was little?! This week we saw papito in the street and he told us that we had to pass by his house to get some juice! Haha He had just gotten a surgery, he is 86 years old and he wanted to take care of us!! He is too nice.   I was able to go to a baptism of a girl that we had taught for a while in my last area! She had gone through SO MANY missionaries but we all knew that she knew!! When she bore here testimony at her baptism she said that duri...
