Week 58: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: This week I read a quote from President Holland. He says,  “The best is yet to come.”. This week I was thinking a lot about enjoying every moment we are given. Looking back at my life and the experiences I have had I cant help but be so incredibly grateful. I know that there are hard times. BUT when I look back I just remember the good times. . . To think that my life has been this blessed and the best is still yet to come! We finally went up in the mountains in our area and EXPLORED! Our area is SO green and so pretty! We found a few hippies… but they didn’t rob us. So everything was great. One by one dogs started following us… until there were 7 with us! A cow licked my hand. It was a good day. This week we found a miracle woman. We were walking down a dirt road and she was walking up with her baby on her back. She was also carrying a bag. We asked her if she needed help. She told us no but we helped her anyways. As we walked with her to her house we slow...

This week. Welp. Things I love: SO MUCH SERVICE THIS WEEK. Washing clothes. Peeling papas. Moving bricks. Washing more clothes. Cleaning someones house. BUT HEY. That’s why I am here, right? To do service! I was visiting one of the other hermanas this week and she told me how she really hated gossip and how much it affects people. Listening to her made me realize how right she is… how much gossip truly affects people. She told me that every time she talks about any of the missionaries she likes to think that she is talking about a representative of Jesus Christ.. and if she would not talk bad about our savior she shouldn’t about others either. I loved her way of thinking about other people. Things I am learning to love: Compi bought food from the calle.. or from the street and then got SO SICK. I have a real fear of eating food from the calle. I don’t want any crazy bacterias that will stay with me my whole life… so I just stay away from that. The MOSQUITOS here ha...

Things I love: I love that there is a Mericado right in front of our house. It is like a street market and it has every fresh fruit and vegetable you could EVER think of! I love that all we have to do is walk about 12 steps and we can buy whatever we want! We had intercambios this week… where we trade comps for a day. AND IT WAS SO GREAT. I mean. Don’t get me wrong  I LOVE MY COMPI. But the hermana I was with was such an example to me! I loved hearing her story and seeing how she was able to truly able to dedicate herself to the mission! GUYS. The world is SO SMALLL!! SO SMALLL. The family we eat lunch with EVERY SINGLE DAY are the aunt and uncle of one of my good friends for college! WHAT THE! Freaking small world! Things I am learning to love: OH MY! There is a COW somewhere below our house that loves to wake us up at   5:30   in the morning!! WHAT THE HECK!!! I wanted to jump out the window and find the cow. MER. Welll really I just wanted to sleep. ...

Things I love: My new area! And my new compi! Seriousy. There are parts where I feel like I am in the jungle! It is so green here and it rains so much. This week we were just trying to get to know our area and find people. Alright. This is not something I love but my compi and I were laughing SO HARD... so it is something funny. My poor compi got sprayed in the eyes with foam and her eyes got SUPER red and swollen. So we had to go to the Dr. He ended up taping her eyes shut and told her she could not open them until the next day. WHAT. haha poor compi had to walk with her hands on my shoulders to leave the Drs. haha and had to put up with me laughing and giving her a play by play of what was happening.  We have the SWEETEST little grandpa in our ward here. He is SO GREAT. We went and visited him and he made us banana juice. He is 85 years old and still active. He works at the temple and loved telling us allll about his family. Awww he is probably my new favorite person he...
