Week 13: The Dreaded Email

Image
We went exploring in the mountains again today and It was wonderful!!! We found an abandoned house and my comp told me she was too scared to go inside... so I climbed through the window. Isnt she the native?! Oh welll. She came in with me once I walked out through the front door.. She said she just need me to go with her.  Things I love: Hahaha. So the lady that makes us lunch everyday has a son named Emanuel. He is 5 years old and basically my best friend. His birthday was this week so I got him a few little gifts, one of which included a gummy candy that looked like dentures. Oh. One thing you should know, a lot of the kids here don’t have any teeth because they are rotted out, Emanuel is one of those children. I was taken a picture of him for his birthday and told him to smile with his teeth (because most people just glare at the camera here). Out of nowhere he started balling, crying so so hard. I had no idea not having teeth was a sensitive subject. Poor kiddo, I had t...

Hola! Haha so. This   week   during weekly planning I made a goal to find more opportunities to serve… Be careful what you wish for because then THE FLOOD DOORS of service opportunities opened. We helped bathe babies. We helped wash clothes. We helped garden. We helped wash dishes. And we have more appointments for service this   week . From all this service I learned: I´m grateful for washing machines. I´m grateful for bathtubs and hot water. I´m grateful for power tools. I´m for sinks that are normal height so I don´t have to hunch. Basically, I learned I´m really grateful for how spoiled I am in the United States. Things I love: GOT A LETTER THIS   WEEK . Yup. It made my whole   week . So if you people get bored and feel like writing me a letter, please do! I´ll explain the most simple way below but I love letters!! And that way I don´t have to speed read I can read it as many times as I want. We had a member of our ward (chu...

WEEK 11- The Dreaded Weekly Email

WOOOOP wooop. I´ve been in the same area for 5 weeks. Everyday we work to find people to teach and talk with about the gospel. We´ve only had one person come to church with us. BUT. This week 6 less active families and 4 new kiddos came with us to church.   It´s kind of a strange thing going around teaching people about you´re religion. But my religion has changed my life. And that’s´why I want to share it.  This week we had a guy who wanted to be baptized change his mind. All I could tell him was that God Loves him and is so proud of him for wanted to find the truth. People want to hear what they´re doing right. People want to know that they´re doing well. And I truly believe that God is so proud of his desire to learn and grow.   Sorry time is cut short today because apparently it´s a non-working day here in Bolivia.  Things I love; GUYS. I am starting to understand people. So much better. I mean, don´t be fooled. There´...

WEEK 10 The Dreaded Weekly Email

I went to the Temple this   week . I went to a conference with a whole bunch of other missionaries (a bunch of whom speak ENGLISH). And!!! Today we went exploring in the JUNGLE. We took a 3 hour bus ride this morning, which meant we had to wake up at 4, but it was so worth it! The place we went is called Incachaca – look it up. It was beautiful. We got to HIKE, explore, find waterfalls and see a whole new part of Bolivia! Bolivia is so cool. There are so many different climates so close together! Favorite scriptures this   week : -Alma 14 – The crazy Faith in this chapter. It´s a good one. Read it. -Exodus 14 – THE PRINCE OF EGYPT -Mosiah 4:9 – it says something about how we have to believe that man cannot understand all the things that the Lord can understand. I liked it because we don´t have the answers to everything. We cannot understand all things but we have to have faith that the Lord does. So our schedule is a little like this: 6:30   wake up ...
