WEEK 11- The Dreaded Weekly Email

WOOOOP wooop. I´ve been in the same area for 5 weeks. Everyday we work to find people to teach and talk with about the gospel. We´ve only had one person come to church with us. BUT. This week 6 less active families and 4 new kiddos came with us to church.
It´s kind of a strange thing going around teaching people about you´re religion. But my religion has changed my life. And that’s´why I want to share it.
This week we had a guy who wanted to be baptized change his mind. All I could tell him was that God Loves him and is so proud of him for wanted to find the truth. People want to hear what they´re doing right. People want to know that they´re doing well. And I truly believe that God is so proud of his desire to learn and grow.
 Sorry time is cut short today because apparently it´s a non-working day here in Bolivia.

Things I love;
  1. GUYS. I am starting to understand people. So much better. I mean, don´t be fooled. There´s still A LOT I don´t understand but I´m starting to understand SO MUCH better. People will tell jokes, or say something sarcastically and I´ll get it. It´s a MIRACLE. My speaking capabilities… well that’s another story. They have colorful parks allll over the place here. They´re the coolest. The old metal slides. They have HUGE slides here. And they´re all super bright Colors! I just want to stop and play all the time. I have a couple times but it just isn´t the same playing by myself while my comp looks at me like I´m crazy.
      1. Salteñas. Mmmhmm more food. But they´re soo good. It´s like an empanada with meat and olives and potatoes and juices but it has more liquid in it. So you have to slurp it when you eat it. So GOOD.
      1. Noche de hogar. Or Family Home Evening. Sunday Nights and Friday nights we´ll try to find a family or two to share a short message with and then play games. They have taught me some of the funniest games, and of course I´m not competitive or anything.
      1. Braiding hair. A bunch of the little girls we visit always ask me to do their hair. It´s great… until I find LICE. But other than that I love it.
Things I´m learning to love;
  1. Si o si?! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN. I´m picking up on little phrases that they say here. For example, si o si. But in my mind whenever I heard that I pictured COC and I could NOT figure out what it meant. Well. Don´t worry guys. I finally got it. YES OR YES.
  1. Every time I cough people tell me to put a jacket on and stop eating ice cream. I´m NOT cold and I LIKE ice cream, thank you… I mean it´s really nice that everyone worries about me but there´s a cold season putting a jacket on isn´t going to change that J
      1. Everything is little. For example, instead of Diego my companion will say Diegito. Or instead of Alejandra my companion will say Alejandrita. Or instead of Hermano or Hermana it´s Hermanito and Hermanita. I´m gonna talk so weird.
      1. I´m getting too comfortable here. I dropped my apple in the dirt this week and almost picked it up and ate it. But then I remembered that the ground is EVERYONE´S (including mine) toilet. Mmhmm. I then thought twice about it.
      1. My shoes smell so bad. Wearing the same shoes cada dia… NASTY.
      2. I love hearing from all of you!!
