Week 75: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: Getting to know the people here. This week we had a BBQ with a family that two of the kiddos recently got baptized but the parents aren't member. It was quite hilarious to get to know the family. The dad kept joking with us. He made fun of us for burning the hot dogs. He kept offering us hot drinks as we were dying of heat by the fire... I love when people become comfortable enough to joke with us.  Being in a position where people trust us. Yesterday we received a call from a woman who was crying. We had never talked with her before but she told us that she wanted to meet with us right a way. We walked a few blocks and met her in the place. She confided in us and told us everything that was happening in her life. I can not believe the trust people have in us... But I truly love the opportunity I have to do my best to represent our Savior. I love that I am given the opportunity everyday to love and comfort people around me.  Some scriptures that hit my hea...

Things I love: The broccoli ladies. We found  a hidden dirt path and when we entered there were huge fields of BROCCOLI. There were also a bunch of cholitas preparing the broccoli! We told them we wanted to help.. because we wanted to learn how. They just laughed at us. So we just started helping. They turned about being hilarious. I love the cholitas!! This week I had a few hard days. We didn’t have anyone, not a single person show up to church. It was a Little discouraging. BUT as I took minute to think about What I should be doing differently or better… I realized that there is ALWAYS something to learn from the hard days. SO I made a calendar and passed it around our Ward. I made everyone tell me when They can accompany us. I realized that if things are going how I want them to be going there is something I need to change.  I felt a new sense of determination to work even harder and dedicate every minute. Things I am learning to love : EEEEEEK. Sorry you are ...

Things I love: This week we visited a family whose family situation is a little rough. The mom is alone with her three kids. They live in a mud house with one room which has their beds, kitchen and everything. They mom began to lose her eyesight about a year ago and can hardly see now. The mom is a member but her kiddos aren't. She asked if we could help her teach her kids. Her one son is SUPER travieso.... or difficult. Everytime we asked if he liked going to church or if he wanted to learn he glared at us and said NO. Every word that left his mouth was NO! I had brought my book of mormon with pictures and I felt like I should share it with him. We began teaching from the book and he began to become interested.... He even said YES! What the! When we ended we asked him if he could end with a prayer and he said YES! What!?!?! Seeing the change in this little kid was a miracle! We helped Rucelvy (our convert) wash a blanket..... haha but it weighed about 50lbs when it was wet! ...
