Week 73: The Dreaded Weekly Email
Things I love:
- We had an open house in the church this week and LOTS OF PEOPLE CAME. It was a miracle. It’s always a gamble with these sorts of activities in Bolivia BUT it turned out really well! I think we had 15-20 inv. Show up.. which is GOOD for Bolivia J We handed out all sorts of Liahonas, tarjetas y folletos!
- WE FOUND A WATERFALL IN MY AREA. Mer. Haha I have done this little hike a bunch of times and I never found the waterfall BUT we went with locals and they took us to the waterfall. Lesson learned. Go with locals the first time around.
- I made my compi celebrate 4th of July with me. Welll as best as we could. We ate some watermelon. I put on some flag socks. We spoke lots of English and enjoyed the day JHAPPY 4TH to all the AMERICANS.
- Washing clothes with my feeet… when it’s too much work to use my hands (see photo).
Things I am learning to love:
- Our open house was supposed to start at 4.. and the ward was supposed to set everything up at 2:30… they all showed up at 4:30. BOLIVIA standard time. Sorry if I’m on bolivian time when I get home. I think it’s even worse than Hoffman standard time.
- AHHH we had choir practice everyday at 6am this week. GAHHH. And did I mention it’s 3degrees outside. MER it was so cold. One day we showed up in our pajamas. Too cold. AND our house is freezing tooo. MER. But during the day it’s super hot as usual.
- Ahhhh the whole week we spent practicing with the choir and then we missed the first song!!! Eeek. We were helping one of our inv. And we walked in a couple min late BUT BOLIVIAN STANDARD TIME…. And so we missed our song.
