Week 72: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love:
  1. This week we visited a family whose family situation is a little rough. The mom is alone with her three kids. They live in a mud house with one room which has their beds, kitchen and everything. They mom began to lose her eyesight about a year ago and can hardly see now. The mom is a member but her kiddos aren't. She asked if we could help her teach her kids. Her one son is SUPER travieso.... or difficult. Everytime we asked if he liked going to church or if he wanted to learn he glared at us and said NO. Every word that left his mouth was NO! I had brought my book of mormon with pictures and I felt like I should share it with him. We began teaching from the book and he began to become interested.... He even said YES! What the! When we ended we asked him if he could end with a prayer and he said YES! What!?!?! Seeing the change in this little kid was a miracle!
  2. We helped Rucelvy (our convert) wash a blanket..... haha but it weighed about 50lbs when it was wet! when we got to her house she told us she had been washing it for 3 hours!!! So we decided it would be faster to take our shoes off and just jump on it :) Who  knows if it got any cleaner but it was fun!
  3. I was showing an old grandpa pictures of my family. He grabbed his wallet pulled out a picture of christ and gave it to me and then told me it was his older brother..... and then he began laughing so hard. Ayyy abuelitos :) I couldn't stop laughing either.

Things I am learning to love:
  1. Ick This week we helped a lady put cow heart on skewers. eeeek. My hands smelled like cow heart for quite some time afterwards.
  2. We were in a taxi and I felt like I had to give my BOM with pictures to our taxi driver. I really didn't want to. I love my childrens BOM. But I kept feeling like I had to give it to him.... mer so I gave it to him and now I'm without my childrens BOM. Let's hope he gets baptized.
