Week 25: The Dreaded Weekly EMAIL

I left my camera card in the internet last week. Gahhhh I could have cried. Every SINGLE photo from my mission. When I realized I had left it there it was too late. The internet cafe was closed. My compi told me she had done the same thing and her card had been stolen. WAHHH. I was so sad. I was scared to pray about it because I knew it was my fault. YEAH YEAH YEAH. I know. I'm crazy. But eventually that night I prayed about it. And right away it was literally like someone whispered in my ear, "It will be there tomorrow:"

Right after I had that feeling I started to doubt. I thougt.. "No, I just thought that because I want that..." And so many other doubts. BUT WHY? I knew that voice wasn't my own. I told myself... "No, you don't want to get your hopes up.... blah blah blah"
The next day I woke up early because I was SO SAD about my stupid camera card. I couldn't sleep. I kept doubting. Soooo eventually I prayed about it AGAIN. And right away AGAIN I felt like it would be there.

Why is it SO EASY to doubt??? I am here teaching people about the importance of faith and here I am doubting a simple response about something that reallly doesn't even matter that much.
Anyways... I went to the internet cafe AND the lady had grabbed my card for me when I had left. She said that people always steal things like that but she had noticed that I had forgotten it...

I was reminded that God really does care about the little things that matter to us AND that my faith is LACKING. Oh man. I think about the faith of the prophets... YEAH. I AM LACKING.
That was my miracle for the week.

Things I love:
  1. AUGUST 6th! It's like the 4th of July and it's the BEST. We had an activity in the church and each organization (relief society, young womens, young mens) presented a dance from a different part of Bolivia. It was so cool!! Their costumes were INSANE and all the dances are so cool. I want to learn how to dance!!! One day! Also. Everyone had to have their hair french braided... but hardly anyone knew how to french braid. SO I was french braiding hair the whole morning.
  2. Alright. This also has do with August 6th... but a lady in our ward has twins and needed help getting her kid to his school so we helped with the costume and getting her three kids to school for his August 6th presentation. Watching little children try to dance is the best. It was so funny!! And their costumes were also SO EXTRAVAGENT!!
  3. I learned how to make Alfajoras (I have no idea how to spell that) and torta de tres leches. They're SO good. I'm just lacking cuñape! So if anyone knows how to make that.... be sure to teach my mom so she can have it ready for me when I get back!
  4. GOT A RANDOM CARD IN THE MAIL. So thank you to who ever sent it to me!! But! If you send me your address I can respond to you!! :)

Things I'm learning to love:
  1. August 6th was so awesome... but their were also so many drunk people AND I saw more than the normal amount of people peeing. Just walking down the road and BAM someones popping a squat in front of me.
  2. THE WIND IS INSANE. Yup. I'm probably gonna get blown away.
  3. OHMYGOSH. Remember how I said that everyone here is tardy. LIKE WAY TARDY. Well the activity in the church was supposed to start at 8am... so we told all of our investigators that it was going to start at 9. YEAH. Apparently that was wishful thinking because it didn't end up starting until 11:30 - WHATTTT?? Compi and I got there at 9 to help set up (yeah, an hour late) and NO ONE WAS THERE. The church was still locked. WHAT THE HECK.
  4. So they closed the area of the elders next to us so our area doubled in size. Last night we were exploring our new area and 3 guys said the were gonna rob us. WHAT. Apparently they were joking cause the just walked away BUT STILL. Please, no.
