Week 31 The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love
  1. My new area is GOLD. Everyone here is SO NICE. We knock doors and people are interested in what we have to say! The people in our ward VOLUNTARILY offer to help us! What is this place?! Seriously, my new area is like gold. My compi and I are both new to this area.. Which means neither of us knew where anyone lived or who to contact… bla bla BUT it’s been so easy because EVERYONE is so willing to help us!
  2. Our new pensionista has a parrot! I was sitting at lunch eating my food with the parrot on my shoulder and all of a sudden the parrot sprinted down my arm and made a mad dash for my plate of food! Crazy parrot, but everyday our lunch is SO entertaining!
  3. GUYS. My new companion is GRINGA. Like from the USA. AND she has less time in the mission than me! She has 4 months. I have 6 months. WHAT THE. Neither of us know how to speak Spanish very well… COOL. But by some miracle people understand us. Or at least say they understand what we’re trying to say. It’s been crazy but I think we’re both learning a ton because we’re both FORCED to talk a whole lot more since there’s no latina comp to rely on.
  4. We have a goal to only speak Spanish with each other. I bet to anyone who actually knows how to speak Spanish would just laugh at our conversations together… but we understand eachother EVEN if it’s awful and 100% incorrect.
Things I’m learning to love
  1. I had to say goodbye to everyone in my area. I HATE saying goodbye. I’d rather just not tell anyone I’m leaving and give them a high five. . . But one of our little investigators made us promise that we would stop by their house if either my compi or I were leaving the area. Eeeek. So we stopped by her house and she STARTED CRYING. Stop that. You can’t cry! Yeah. It was sad.
  2. My pensionista also has BABY Kittens. They were only 4 days old. Their eyes hadn’t even opened. She also has 4 little children. CRAZY children who love to love their animals. Eeeek I had a heart attack watching the children play with this kittens. THEY’RE NOT TOYS. Haha poor kiddos just wanted to love their kittens… Welp. My first day they had 4 kittens… and now they’re down to two.
  3. Like I said, my comp is Gringa and she’s TALLER than me. I’m already like a giant here and she’s 3 inches taller than me! So as you can imagine we get all sorts of honks and whistles!
  4. We moved into an apartment that used to have elders in it… YEAH. GROSSS. Seriously. Boys are so dirty!! I talked with the elders the day before and told them to make sure to clean their apartment… they told me it was SUPER CLEAN. YEAH RIGHT. They left us a pile of dirty dishes in the sink, the drain in the shower was clogged and I could tell that they had had liquid poops in the bathroom. THANKS ELDERS.

My first and second compi. (Mama and step mother...)
This is how dirty our house was! Freaking Elders even left dirty dishes in the sink!
The parrot eating my food during lunch!
Gahhh me having a heart attack with the baby kittens. RIP kittens.

Getting lost with the Elders in the new area.
Meeting new families. The told us that TWO times they had had appointments with the elders. They had had food ready and everything and the Elders NEVER showed up. We told them Sisters are better than Elders :)
 SELFIES.
AHHHH YEAH. This is how I know my new area is REALLY cool!
 MY NEW AREA. Wooop woop.
Hahaha this is the WORST photo. But i was graffiting my name... not really just writing my name because their was so much dirt and the girl who we were looking foor showed up out of no where... So this is the picture when I was telling my comp, "Wait!! She's right there!"
Found a tiny puppy. We live on the 4th floor and it lives on the bottom floor. I'll probably steal it.

Another photo of compi and I. Remember how I'm like a giant among these people. And now my comp too!
And... We found some girls who showed us where all the investigators live! One is a member and one is an investigator but she already has such a strong testimony! She was sharing her beliefs during our lessons with other people! Like I said, this area is ORO --- GOLD.
