Week 42: The Dreaded Weekly EMAIL
Thank you for the prayers and thoughts. They truly help more than I can express. I have never felt so supported, mentally and physically, in my entire life. It’s pretty much a miracle that I am able to stay so happy everyday – but I know that prayers are real. I feel your support and I am so grateful!
Things I love:
- Compi drinks my coke for me! Is she not the best?!?! Haha so we have these investigators that give us those mini glass bottles of coke EVERYTIME we teach them.. Cokes great and all BUT I cannot drink soda that fast. SOOOOO we came up with a great system. I’ll drink about 1 sip in the time that compi drinks 7/8 of her bottle and then when they’re not watching us we’ll quickly SWITCH our bottle. And BAM. I’ve magically got one sip left and compi drinks the other 7/8 of the bottle. SHE IS THE BEST. Sure gonna miss her.
- This week we were visiting one of our cholita friends, Florentina. She kept shoving potatoes and cheese at us and telling us to eat. AND then she told me I was getting FAT. Hahah YEAH I KNOW THANK YOU. So then I had a real excuse to not eat any more of potatoes. When she kepts shoving more my way I just told her I couldn’t get any fatter otherwise I wouldn’t fit in my clothes. Haha THANKS FLORENTINA :)
- LIGHT THE WORLD. For those of that you haven’t seen this video CHECK IT OUT HERE: https://www.mormon.org/ it talks about 25 different ways we can find to serve those around us. I have already had so many incredible experiences. We chatted with a girl on a park bench and made her watch the video. She claimed to be atheist… but after the video she asked us how to pray. We showed another girl and she said she was so grateful… but it’s not the video. It’s the message. Finding ways to serve those around us. 5 days down AND I promise it’ll make you so much happier!!! We found many people to help move, to talk to. If you’re looking for service opportunities you’ll find them!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS SEASON. :)
Things I’m learning to love:
- This week I woke up in the middle of the night because the LIGHTENING AND THUNDER were so bright and so loud! We’re the TALLEST building on our street and I legit began to think we were going to get struck by lightening! The lightening would flash and BRIGHTEN our entire room – brighter than our lights brighten our room. I just prayed we wouldn’t die… and then I thought it was pretty cool so I got out of my bed and watched it for a while.
- OH MY GOODNESS. Another nasty, dirty, elders story. A couple elders had to move this week and they needed some help. When we got there to help them move I was in shock YET AGAIN. It shouldn’t surprise me anymore.. but Elders are SO DIRTY. I don’t even think I’m that clean of a person. BUT I was sweeping their BEDROOM floor full of cups, bottles, mud, toenails, q-tips, papers… I don’t think they own a trashcan. Basically it’s just been confirmed over and over again: Boys are disgusting.
- The animal TORTUE continues in the house of my pension. This week episode consisted of children putting clothes pins on the kittens paws.
Compi drinks my coke for me....HOW GREAT IS SHE??
Photos from the Zone conference.
Letting children draw on me... BUT then, of course, I got to draw on her toooo.
Riding in a big semi, whoop whoop.
Helping the Elders move... Boys are disgusting.
Just writing words with my food :)
More of the COOLEST view. Can you find the temple?? and the Christ statue??
No one willl ever understand... but this dog had the BIGGEST under bite I have ever seen. It looked like one of those big fish with the jagged teeth with the HUGE underbite. Anyways. I could not stop laughing. I was bent over dying of laughter while this dog was running by us.
Service.... AND getting stuck in the rain :) light the world, right??
Here we are eating KIDNEY.... merp. We may have put it in a napkin and fed it to a hungry amigo :)
The cutest little family. Missing the youngest baby. And their mom is my age WHAT:
Look at this cute family and their CHRISTMAS TREE :)
This chica will be leaving for the USA in January to serve a mission!
Paola from our ward
Compi decided to trust me with cutting her hair... I decided it was a good idea to leave a piece behind so she could remember how long her hair was :)
Saying goodbye to missionaries.
