Week 68: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love:
  1. Guys. I cannot believe that Rucelvy got baptized. So many miracles passed to make it all work out. I remember the first time we talked with her and she had SO MUCH ATTITUDE. The gospel of Jesus Christ has completely changed her. She is truly a different person. A happy and hopeful person. I feel so blessed to be able to share this message with people and see the changes that take place in their lives.
  2. THE POWER OF FASTING! This week we fasted hoping that Rucelvy would be able to talk with her family about her baptism and that they would take the news well. Her family is SUPER catholic and Rucelvy had been too scared to ever mention it to them. She had had nightmares about it gahhhh. But about 30seconds after we STARTED fasting we called her and she told us that they took the news REALLY WELL! The power of fasting is REAL. So then we finished our fast after 30seconds…. JUST KIDDING.
  3. We took a jovencita with us to a fireside. Elder Montoya came and spoke in Bolivia and he answered questions that people had. He talked about conversion and how conversion is for LIFE. While there the jovencita leaned over to me and asked me how or what she had to do to be baptized. She told us that felt something, something different that she had never felt before. I love being here and being able to help people find something that can truly change their life.
  4. RUNNING INTO PEOPLE. I ran into so many people from my old wards this week and it is the best!!!

Things I’m learning to love:
  1. Ahhh this week we accidentally crashed a birthday party for a grandma. We knocked their door and they told us to come in. AHHHH. It was all super great and dandy until they gave us HUGE plates of food and my salad was full of BUGS. AHHH what am I supposed to do?! I picked the bugs out and tried to forget about them…
  2. This week a lady gave us a MOUNTAIN of food (always food stories) but I really could not finish my plate. I had to distract them and then stuff potatoes in my pocket. I would have just left them BUT they were glaring me down. And then they yelled at their daughter for not finishing… So I just shoved them in my pocket. Pretty sure I’m developing new talents here.

I sure love it here. Even when they give me crazy food with bugs in it. Gracias por su amor y mensajes!!!
