Week 39: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love:
  1. Back to talking about food problems. Sorry this is in basically EVERY email.  But HEY we came up with another solution to not being able to finish our food, we feed the little boy that lives in our pensionistas house – her kid :) Little boys are like trash cans anyways so we just shovel the food right on into his house. AND he loves us!
  2. There is a house made of mud across the street from house. I don’t know why I have never written about this house but it’s INSANE. It’s two stories (don’t know how that’s possible). They always have dogs walking on the roof, clothes hanging, they have a tire tower. I’ve attached a picture but just know that it does not do the house justice. 
  3. GUYS. Another dog accident happened. And again it happened to my comp, NOT ME. I’m gonna get it so bad one of these days. BUT this time my comp put her jacket on a chair. We walked out of the room and when we got back in the room her jacket was on the floor with a puddle of PEE. Haha I was the first one to notice it I made eye contact with the lady we were visiting and she had a panicked look on her face… and then I just busted out laughing. Haha poor compi. 

Things I’m learning to love:
  1. Welp. It happened. ALLLLLLL of my pictures from my ENTIRE mission got deleted. SO SAD. The stupid internet here always gives peoples memory cards viruses. I printed some pictures this morning and when I got my card back there were 0 pictures. OH so sad. BUT hey. At least I email a ton every week…. There just won’t be any this week L so sad… I had some pretty funny ones.
  2. UGH. We went running this morning and there 16 dogs in our cancha (a grass soccer field). 16!!! They were ALLLLL big dogs too.  And they kept trying to attack me… so after 2 miles we gave up. SO LAME. I tried running with a stick but it kinda just ticked the dogs off more. Stupid DOGS. I hate them all. Unless they’re puppies. 
  3. Everyone has been talking about TRUMP this week. GAHHHHH. So yes. I heard who won. They’re all scared here. They all think he’s gonna be the next Hitler, except with the Latinos. Eeeek. They also keep telling us no one will be able to visit the states now. CRAZY how much the election effected the whole WORLD. 
  4. Hahaha this week we were talking with a cholita. She was eating some sausage thing with her hands and chatting with us. She was SO NICE to us and thought we looked hungry so she handed us some meat with her licked fingers… we had to figure out how get rid of it with out her seeing. :)

Things I love: Noche de Hogar or in English, Family Home Evening. We teach a short lesson and then we PLAY GAMES. For all my friends that LOVE games (not, all my friends hate games)BUT I have some new ones!!! And if anyone has any ideas for games with children SEND THEM MY WAY!! My compy does not trust me to protect her. The other night we finished a lesson at 8:20pm . We typically have to be home between   9 and 9:30pm   everynight. Normally I’d just say lets go home… but this night I said, “LETS GO TEACH CLAUS.” He’s getting baptized this Saturday so we have lots of lessons to teach him. My comp looked at me and said it was too dark and too dangerous. WHAT?!?! I could totally protect us!! The elders were with us and looked at my comp and said, “Lets go!”. My comp looked at the elders and said, “All of us together?! YEAH!”…    I started laughing so hard. WHAT?!?! Oh, ok cool. You’ll trust the elders and NOT ME?!?! Week 38: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Super short this week!!! But enjoy the pics. AND if you want a letter for Christmas SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS and I will send you one. Love you all!!! Things I love: We had an activity in the church and PEOPLE CAME! Normally we can expect maybe 20 people BUT this time we had 90 people come!!!! WAHOOO. We had a “Noche de Cine” – a movie night in the church. I spent ALLLLLL night cooking popcorn. I made over 30 batches of popcorn. WOOP. So you can add that to my new list of talents.   FRESH FRUIT. Alright I may have already wrote about this BUT there is a fruit truck that drives around here and they have SO MUCH FRESH FRUIT. This morning we chased down the fruit truck (because for some reason it couldn’t see two white giants running down the road) and for less than THREE DOLLARS $3$ I got 25 bananas, a papaya, and 8 mangos. Week 72: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: This week we visited a family whose family situation is a little rough. The mom is alone with her three kids. They live in a mud house with one room which has their beds, kitchen and everything. They mom began to lose her eyesight about a year ago and can hardly see now. The mom is a member but her kiddos aren't. She asked if we could help her teach her kids. Her one son is SUPER travieso.... or difficult. Everytime we asked if he liked going to church or if he wanted to learn he glared at us and said NO. Every word that left his mouth was NO! I had brought my book of mormon with pictures and I felt like I should share it with him. We began teaching from the book and he began to become interested.... He even said YES! What the! When we ended we asked him if he could end with a prayer and he said YES! What!?!?! Seeing the change in this little kid was a miracle! We helped Rucelvy (our convert) wash a blanket..... haha but it weighed about 50lbs when it was wet! ...
