Week 51: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Alright. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY (tomorrow). I hope you all eat LOTS of dulces for me. Chocolate and the sour tart candy things that they always have at valentines day.

This week I will be completing a year in the mission! Can you all believe that? Cause I sure can’t! I have been out of the States for a full year (almost)… I still like to tell people I have mas o menos 6 meses in the mission.. BUT holy I actually have mas o menos 6 months left.

Things I love:
  1. This week we had a baptism for two incredible people. I cannot believe the amount of faith they have! It all started when they wanted to visit their Tia. She said she didn’t have time because she was traveling and Sunday she said she would be at church.. they said it didn’t matter they would visit her at church. Miracle 1 – they actually showed up to church. And while they were at church they were given a Book of Mormon. This Book of Mormon was the start of alllll their troubles… Or the start of what changed their life. Because of this BOM they were kicked out of their house (the mom is Catholic) with no money, no food, nothing. They had a brand new baby and nothing. So they called the tia and she told them to come live with her.  With only enough money to get them to her house (about 50cents) they went with their BOM and their baby. Their life has not gotten easier BUT they have so much faith. They are SO giving and loving. They have already had so many trials in their life! They are 20 and 22 years old. They husband was abandoned for marrying his wife. His family told him he couldn’t marry her because she was below him. But he chose her. He came from money but he now has nothing. Nothing but his wife, his baby and his faith. There could truly be a movie made about them. They are such an example to me of real FAITH.
  2. MORE FRUIT. It’s called tuna. But I think it’s cactus fruit. WHO KNOWS. But I’ve been loading up on that this week.
  3. Compi started snoring during language studies. WHAT THE. English is that interesting?! Haha
  4. We were walking down the street and compi farted so loud. She tried to play it like nothing happened BUT I couldn’t lit it slide.I made a comment and she bursted out LAUGHING!

Things I’m learning to love:
  1. OH my. The other night we were walking to our apartment when a policeman stopped us right in front of our house. He started asking how long we had lived here. If we had seen any problems.  That we HAD to report if we saw anything out of the ordinary and if we needed anything we should just come chat with him… and then he started asking me allll sorts of questions about the states. About my personal life. MER WAHHHHH. NO THANK YOU. I think he was a fake police officer BUT WHO KNOWS. Creepy.
  2. We got new matresses. WOOP. And my bed is ROCK HARD. Literally ROCK HARD. Like I put  blanket on the tile and it was softer than me bed. MERP.
  3. Found a cat head in the street. WHAT THE. Oh the things you see in the street.

TUNA! or.. cactus fruit. I think.
 Braided their hair
 Some statue in my area.
Look what I found in the street. Can you tell what it is?
 Exploring my area.
 Me and the compi :)
Ugghhh waiting for people when they don't answer the door. THIS IS MY LIFE.
The crazy children making me play with them.
 Aren't they the cutest?!
Oh. And they have a baby too.. hahaha when we were explaining how the baptism was she said they had to be careful because she could split open from the c-section.. and everyone would see her insides. haha she's a jokester.
I'm gonna regret sending this... but I put my pajamas on the other day on the hang string got caught like this. Real cute, huh?
 Back in LIMA. Kinda.
