Week 66: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love:
  1. GUYS. I know I shouldn't love this but it made me LAUGH so hard. My compi had an allergic reaction and she looked like HITCH. I mean. I was finally able to repay her a little for the whole week she took care of me and take care of her a little BUT oh man I sure laughed too. 
  2. This week we were in a hurry and running down the street when we said HI to a lady walking by. She was SO NICE and smiley we had to stop and talk to her. She told us to please come by her house the next day. It's pretty rare that people invite us over to there house BUT it seemed to happen almost everyday this week! BOLIVIANS ARE THE BEST. 
  3. We had intercambios 3 times this week. Which just means I swapped comps 3 times this week. Switching comps is always super fun because we get to learn from other people. IT WAS SO FUN. Going to different areas, meeting different people, eating with different people, having dogs follow us, finding roller blades. Guys the mission is SO GREAT. I love learning and sharing with people something that really does have the power to change their lives!
  4. This week a lady told us enter into her house. Me and my comp could both tell that she had something wrong... but we stayed and talked with her. Her mom later told us that her daughter has schizophrenia. She told us that her daughter doesn't trust anyone and never talks with anyone but for some reason she trusted us and asked us to come in. It was a miracle. I was able to talk with her mom and share with her mom about my uncle the experiences I had had. I know that her life with her daughter will never be the same... but she was able to be comforted and we were able to share with her the hope that the gospel brings.
 
Things I am learning to love:
  1. It is such a blessing that I am feeling better BUT I have been eating like a crazy person!!! I think my appetite more than doubled... but that's what happens when you don't eat for a week, right?
  2. OH MY GOODNESS. There is a creepy guy in our area ALWAYS tells me to say hi to him!! WHAT THE. I say hi, why you gotta tell me to say hi to you?!?! He's got his eyebrow pierced and everything. MER.
  3. One of the girls in our area told us how she got ROBBED this week... It was a SUPER crazy story that I will tell you all after the mission. But needless to say that compi and I are now being extra careful.

Things I love: Noche de Hogar or in English, Family Home Evening. We teach a short lesson and then we PLAY GAMES. For all my friends that LOVE games (not, all my friends hate games)BUT I have some new ones!!! And if anyone has any ideas for games with children SEND THEM MY WAY!! My compy does not trust me to protect her. The other night we finished a lesson at 8:20pm . We typically have to be home between   9 and 9:30pm   everynight. Normally I’d just say lets go home… but this night I said, “LETS GO TEACH CLAUS.” He’s getting baptized this Saturday so we have lots of lessons to teach him. My comp looked at me and said it was too dark and too dangerous. WHAT?!?! I could totally protect us!! The elders were with us and looked at my comp and said, “Lets go!”. Week 38: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Super short this week!!! But enjoy the pics. AND if you want a letter for Christmas SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS and I will send you one. Love you all!!! Things I love: We had an activity in the church and PEOPLE CAME! Normally we can expect maybe 20 people BUT this time we had 90 people come!!!! WAHOOO. We had a “Noche de Cine” – a movie night in the church. I spent ALLLLLL night cooking popcorn. I made over 30 batches of popcorn. WOOP. So you can add that to my new list of talents.   FRESH FRUIT. Alright I may have already wrote about this BUT there is a fruit truck that drives around here and they have SO MUCH FRESH FRUIT. This morning we chased down the fruit truck (because for some reason it couldn’t see two white giants running down the road) and for less than THREE DOLLARS $3$ I got 25 bananas, a papaya, and 8 mangos. Week 72: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: This week we visited a family whose family situation is a little rough. The mom is alone with her three kids. They live in a mud house with one room which has their beds, kitchen and everything. They mom began to lose her eyesight about a year ago and can hardly see now. The mom is a member but her kiddos aren't. She asked if we could help her teach her kids. Her one son is SUPER travieso.... or difficult. Everytime we asked if he liked going to church or if he wanted to learn he glared at us and said NO. Every word that left his mouth was NO! I had brought my book of mormon with pictures and I felt like I should share it with him. We began teaching from the book and he began to become interested.... He even said YES! What the! When we ended we asked him if he could end with a prayer and he said YES! What!?!?! Seeing the change in this little kid was a miracle! We helped Rucelvy (our convert) wash a blanket..... haha but it weighed about 50lbs when it was wet! ...
