Week 1 Dreaded email

Ohhhhh familia and friends.
I have now been in Peru for 1 week. 1 WHOLE WEEK. But let me tell you…
it sorta feels like I have been here for a little longer than that.
Sometimes days here feel like a month long.
I have seen sooooo much of this beautiful country. Our MTC campus is
surrounded by the most beautiful green mountains… that I go out and
climb every morning. I WISH. The MTC is boot camp. The whole campus is
probably less than half a square mile. It really is actually
surrounded by beautiful mountains but I have yet to leave the gates.
So what do I do alllllllll day?! I wake up by 6:30, every day. I eat
three meals a day, every day. I am glued to my companion 24/7 allllll
day, every day.  I play soccer, every day (HALLELUJAH). I attend
class, every day. Oh and I study, every day.
My class consists of 9 North Americans that are all at least 4 years
younger than me, and also all arrived on the same day. They have all
taken 4+ years of Spanish. I have taken ZERO. So of course, my teacher
always ask ME to read aloud in Spanish. I did not even know how to
pronounce the alphabet my first day. It´s cool. I am beginning to
sound like a 1st grade level reader instead of a pre K reader these
days. WOOT WOOT, progress. I’ll take what I can get.
Everyone in my class LOVES to help me… and we all know how much I LOVE
to ask for help. I know G-d knows each of us. I know he knows our
strengths, our weaknesses and our needs.  I´m sure He is getting a
good laugh watching me rely so much on the help of others. OH the life
lessons I´m already learning here.

Things I LOVE:
1. Physical activity time.
2. Guys. I love the hope and security my faith gives me. Hope is such
a cool concept.
3. Physical activity time (it deserves to be on here twice).
4. Meal time.
5. Learning about the scriptures. I love becoming familiar enough that
if I (or others) have a question I know where I can look for answers.

Things I will LEARN to love:
1. How my teacher picks on me, without fail, every single time to
either respond or read in SPANISH.
2. That I´m supposed to speak very proper. HAHA. Have I ever been proper?!
3. Listening to 18 and 19 year olds talk about crushes and or bf´s and
gf´s back home. HA.

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST. Ask me anything. It actually is pretty amazing
here. The range of emotions I feel in one day far surpasses the amount
of emotions I even knew were possible to feel, ever. I blame part of
that on hormones and the rest…. Probably because I´m crazy.
