Week 6: I'm The Man, I'm The Man

I made it. Those are song lyrics. In case you didn't get that. Made it to Cochabamba Bolivia. I'm at the Mission home right now, next to the beautiful temple. Left the CCM at 5am this morning. And now it's 7:45pm. Hollla. Soooo the plan is to eat pizza tonight. Go to bed. Go see the Big statue tomorrow. Meet my new companion. Unpack. And then BEGIN. Wish me luck. OHhhhhhh. And I won't have a P-day until MONDAY. So See later WAWAS.

Things I love: We were teaching a group of kids this week and THEY THOUGHT I WAS FROM SPAIN. They were shocked when I said I could speak English. Yeah, yeah… I know they were children BUT hey! At Least I could have a conversation with them AND they could understand me!! It’s great being able to talk with people and instead of looking at me like I’m crazy and turning to my compi to ask for help they’ll respond to me! WAHOO. This we were teaching a lady who seemed very sad. We talked with her for a while and she told us that her son had passed away at 7 years old – 13 years ago. I could see the hurt in her eyes. She was so sad but I was so grateful to confidently be able to teach her about God’s plan for us. That we are meant to be families for eternity – not just for our time here on earth. MY COMPI. Week 38: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Super short this week!!! But enjoy the pics. AND if you want a letter for Christmas SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS and I will send you one. Love you all!!! Things I love: We had an activity in the church and PEOPLE CAME! Normally we can expect maybe 20 people BUT this time we had 90 people come!!!! WAHOOO. We had a “Noche de Cine” – a movie night in the church. I spent ALLLLLL night cooking popcorn. I made over 30 batches of popcorn. WOOP. So you can add that to my new list of talents.   FRESH FRUIT. Alright I may have already wrote about this BUT there is a fruit truck that drives around here and they have SO MUCH FRESH FRUIT. This morning we chased down the fruit truck (because for some reason it couldn’t see two white giants running down the road) and for less than THREE DOLLARS $3$ I got 25 bananas, a papaya, and 8 mangos. Week 36: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: This week Pamela got baptized… and I can not describe the happiness I felt for her. Seriously, I know that sounds dumb and cliché. But she was so prepared, ready and grateful to finally have a purpose here, to finally understand Gods plan for her. Helping someone discover their own relationship with God brings a different kind of happiness. Knowing that I was able to share lasting joy with someone else made my heart SO HAPPY. #missionary #notsorry We painted someones house. Well, actually just a wall. My compi used to paint MURALS. How cool is my comp?!?! so she directed us and we did our best to help. BASICALLY start booking appointments with me for when I get back… JK. We mainly watched. And tried not to mess up. We made so many goodies this week, pizza, tomato soup, pancakes… It’s a problem. BUT I love eating. And people love learning to make American food SO we’re bonding.
