Week 22: The Dreaded Weekly Email
This week was strange but SO GOOD. We had conference. Inter-cambios. Lots of service. AND. We went to the temple with one of our new converts WAHOO. But with all that it felt like we didn´t work very much… which means we´ll be working EXTRA this week. (Sorry for all the mission terms that probably mean nothing to half of you.)
Things I love:
- Alright. I always hated when people told me they could feel prayers that were being said for them. I thought it was the cheesiest thing I had ever heard. And I just didn´t believe them. BUT. I believe them now. IT´S TRUE. Merrrrr. I´m turning into a cheeseball… But I am so grateful for all the prayers that have been said for me. And it´s real. I FEEL THEM.
- My compi loves learning English. I love listening to her pronounce things AND I love that she learned the phrase ¨right now¨. Hahah she´ll ask me to do something and then look at me and say, ¨RIGHT NOW¨. It makes me laugh everytime, especially when I think of my poor first compi and how demanding I must sounded… Heck, I probably still sound demanding.
- This week we were teaching the same lady who has the child that threw the kitten across the room, remember that story?? Well I was curious to see if the kitten was still alive so I asked where it was. When the mom called it we heard it.. but it was far away. We found it on the roof of the house. The mom kept saying, ¨no, no, no!!¨ I saw a sketchy, handmade, wooden ladder on the on the side of the house and had a brilliant idea J I told her I could climb up and grab the cat. So I climbed up, reached for the neck of the kitten, grabbed it and climbed back down. The ladder held me and the kitten made it safely to the ground.
- One time this week we were running late and so we waved for a trufi. We only had to go about 2min down the road.. but when we asked the driver how much it was he said, ¨cien bolivianos¨. WHAT?! YEAH RIGHT.(It´s normally 1 boliviano.) So we asked again and he said… sorry that’s the fare for this trufi. I wanted to say… ¨WHAT?! Is your ghetto trufi somehow made of gold…?!¨but then he started laughing and said, ¨I´m just kidding… it´s free HERMANAS!¨ Ha merrrrrrrr. Apparently he was a member.
Things I'm learning to love:
- Compi LOVES to cook. Which is awesome. BUT then we are CONSTANTLY eating and I CANNOT fit anymore in. She likes to teach people cook and try different dishes.. . all great BUT I can´t eat anymore. I´m about to come home as a balloon.
- OH MY GOSH. Alright. I know have to stop complaining about the food. But before I do, here´s another story. After we visited one of the families in the ward they brought out a plate of sandwiches (which consisted of a tub of mayo, ketchup and a slab of some sort of fake meat). I thought it would be fine, one for each of us. I could totally do it. I slowly choked down the sandwich when the mom looked at me and the plate of sandwiches. She asked me why I didn´t like them. I was kinda confused because I just FINISHED one. And I told her the ones on the plate were for her… she told me she had already eaten and they were FOR ME. MERRRRR. Thanks. Yeah well another sandwich ended up in my bag. Don´t worry, I was sneaky about it. And a random dog was really grateful late that night.

I LOVE reading her weekly emails! I didn't realize there are pics so thanks for posting on fb so I can see this beautiful lady!
