Week 23: The Dreaded Weekly Email
Things I love
Love you alllllllllll.
- This week compi wrote out the words to a song in Spanish. I have the song on my iPod so we have been listening to it on REPEAT and SCREAMING along. Haha I’m so grateful she wrote out the words for me… because for we all know I am TERRIBLE with lyrics… I think she was sick of hearing me try to figure out what was being said, thus she wrote the lyrics for me :)
- This week I became OFFICIAL. Woop, woop. I finally got my Bolivian I.D. Every time we go to the spot for VISA stuff there’s always traffic like crazy and crossing the street is a mess. But this last time we went there was a policeman standing around, he saw compi and I and STOPPED the traffic so that we could pass. Special treatment?! Yeah, I’ll take it.
- There’s a guy in our ward named Miguel. He’s 21 years old and just got back from his mission 3 months ago. EVERY TIME we go to his house he LOVES pushing food on us. He just sits there and laughs because it happened to him on his mission… Well this week he came teaching with us and was feeling super sick and the people we were visiting kept pushing food on him! He had to run to their bathroom TWICE and the lady continued to push food his way. I was laughing so hard at him, KARMA.
- I have a new pet peeve: people chewing in my ear. The children here eat this powder stuff that’s basically like trying to eat cinnamon. It dries up your mouth so quickly and is impossible to eat. This week a little girl was eating this goop and had her head on my shoulder… ICK. It was like listening to nails on a chalkboard. YUCK. I put my hand on her chin and closed her mouth.
- Last week we were playing soccer on cement and I fell pretty good. I got a nasty cement burn on my leg. One of the days this week the children at our pensionistas house were playing under the table when all of a sudden I felt a tiny little child’s finger nail scratch all the way down my cement burn. AHHHH. Thank you.
- WE DID NOT HAVE AGUA FOR 4 DAYS. Which could have been fine… except for the fact that I’ve been trying to wash my hair less (because my hair has been falling out. I was on day 2 of not washing my hair when we lost AGUA. AHHHHHH 6 days of not washing my hair. GROSS. Worked the french braids and dry shampoo.
- It’s getting hotter. I like the heat but I don’t like sweat. Compi and I were sitting down waiting for a member and when my compi stood up there was a big wet spot. I laughed at her… and then when I stood up THERE WAS A WET SPOT. Eeek. GROSS.
Love you alllllllllll.
