The Dreaded Weekly Email: Week 47
What the. I just looked and CANNOT believe it's week 47. Sorry I've been MIA for the last little bit. BUT hey. I got a little busy. And lazy. Mostly lazy.
Things I love:
- This week I have been so incredibly GRATEFUL that people can understand me. And that I can respond to people. And joke with people. And I'm not just some dull, boring person who stares at the wall the entire time (like my first 6 months). So basically... To anyone going on a mission that has to learn a new language: It gets SO MUCH BETTER. How cool is it that I can talk to people in spanish?!?! I just wish for one day everyone in the world could speak the same language. OR that I could speak EVERY language. ANYWAYS. I love speaking spanish. I love joking around with people. I love being able to be myself in SPANISH.
- Sharing about The Book of Mormon. Last night we visited a family. The mom is a member but no one else in her family is. So we went over and they STARTED FEEDING US... haha so I pulled out The Book of Mormon and started explaining what it was. We had all been joking and laughing and all of a sudden there was such a strong spirit with us. Everyone listened... AND SEEMED INTERESTED. and had questions. It was a miracle. There is power in the word of God. I loved being able to share about our savior Jesus Christ.
- Latina Families. HA. This week one girl from our ward was getting ready to leave for her mission and EVERYONE in her family had a different opinion about how she should pack (including me, WHOOPS), what she should bring... But not just her mom, her uncles, aunts, cousins... EVERYONE. I loved watching it. And being a part of it. I better have one HUGE, CRAZY, OPINIONATED family... oh wait, I do.
Things I'm Learning to Love:
- Alright. My new years goal was to cut back on ICE CREAM. Ha. Who was I kidding. That didn't last more than half a day. I tried. And then I remembered IT IS HOTT HERE. And there is ice cream on every corner. So yeah. That didn't last.
- There is this one lady who LOVES speaking quetchua to me. HAHA she loves cracking jokes about me to her family in QUETCHUA and then laughing at me. She's an older cholita woman and she is so spunky. She's probably one of my favorite people here (don't tell anyone), she's the one who tells me I look fat and then gives me 8 potatoes to eat... BUT when she speaks quetchwa I just start blabbering or talking in english. Then she starts laughing harder at me.
- THE WEATHER can not make up it's mind. I am keep getting sun burned because it looks COLD and then the sun comes out. MER. and then I'm burning. And then I'm freezing. mer mer mer
- THE DRUNK PEOPLE AFTER NEW YEARS. There were WAY more than normal and it lasted almost a WEEK.

She'll be at the TEMPLE in LA. Be sure to say hi to her :)
As I was helping her pack... I decided it would be a good idea to put on all of her clothes.
Packing in Latina fashion. SO stressful. Everyone had their own opinions of how the poor girl should pack for her mission... including me. Apparently I should have been Latina.
Took a trufi for an HOUR to go play wally. MER. But it's cool. We got to see Punata.
