Week 48: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love:
  1. We got stuck in a rainstorm. We were just walking from one visit to our pensions house when out of NOWHERE it started pouring SO HARD. Like rain drops the size of golf balls. We got soaked. You could literally squeeze tons of water out of my clothes. BUT hey that’s what makes it fun, right?
  2. Our pension has started feeding us VEGTABLES. What!! It’s a miracle. She was joking around saying we were going to only eat vegtables because they were buying new furniture… But we took the opportunity to tell her that we WANTED ONLY vegtables. PLEASE. Wooop. Woop.
  3. We were helping a lady was her clothes this week and all of a sudden she jumped in the tub and started jumping on her clothes. Haha this lady. She is so funny. She speaks more quetchua than Spanish so it’s always entertaining to chat with her. But one day this week we brought someone with us that speaks quetchua and she LOVED IT. I’m pretty sure they were just making fun of me the whole time! But at least she felt more comfortable.. ha
  4. ROCIO GOT BAPTIZED. And holy she is so happy. So happy to go to church. So happy to get baptized. I just love her. She’s 18 years old and the greatest.

Things I’m learning to love:
  1. This week I bought a pilfrut (juice in a bag) and it was RANCID.  Like so nasty. SO SO NASTY. So of course I didn’t drink it. On of the Elders had also bought one and decided he was just going to drink it… WELP what do you know. He was hit with it coming out of both ends the next day. Oh my. That is the difference between Sisters and Elders.
  2. This week was the week of cancelations (is that a word???). Everybody seemed to be busy or busy this week. We decided to stand on the corner and talk with EVERYONE that passed by us. And let me tell you. IT WORKED. Haha we met so many GREAT people. But we’ll see if the end up canceling on us.
  3. The water situation continues. I don’t understand. How is it pouring and yet there is NO WATER. Don’t get it. But who needs showers...

Thanks Kim Catron for the sweet face masks.
Saying goodbye to homegirl!! She'll be in LA in March. Feel free to visit her! :)
This is our crazy zone. Cambios this week. WOOP. WOOP.
Some girl told me she had fish. She went and grabbed her fish tank, put it in my lap and walked away. UHHHH WHAT. What am I supposed to do with fish??
Hahaha This cholita, Filomena, stole my glasses. She also has no problem patting my chest and saying, ¨tan grande?¨. Loca.
We snuck into Hna Florentinas house and stole some fruit :)
When she gets sick of using her hands to wash clothes... Just use your feet.
It started pouring!! We were walking to lunch and WOOP. We got SOAKED.
The whole street was flooded. BUT HEY. I still love the RAIN.
This little homie stole my camera and now I have about 300 extra photos.
Rocio got baptized!!! Woop woop isn't she the cutest?!?! She was just soooo happy!!
Gracias a Mama Hoffman for Rocios dress ;)

Moving furniture. And children hiding.
