Week 45/46: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Merry CHRISTMAS FROM BOLIVIA
 A noche de hogar (family home evening). We used stickers of a nativity scene and made the kiddos tell us what happened. 
 One of my favorite cholitas. She told me it will take her a month to finish this thing she's making. 
 I found some HORSES! 
 Hahaha I gave this child a WARHEAD candy for her birthday. 
 BIRTHDAY PARTY. 
 Reading Christmas stories. :) 
 Playing with Children. They think I'm crazy. 
OH MY GOODNESS. We were supposed to start our ward activity at 6pm. My comp had so much faith that everyone would come. So we went at 5:30 to set up... and this is me at 6:30 waiting for the FIRST PERSON to come. Of course I had to buy some ice cream.

More Singing. This lady is the BEST. She invited ALLLLL of us into her house and gave us food. SHE IS THE BEST:

 And this is why I didn't have time to EMAIL last week. Last monday we went and EXPLORED with the ward. It was a park with pools, out doors sports courts... WAHHOO so we played all day Monday

 There was like ONE cloud in the sky. And it just happened to be raining on me. But I'll take it. I LOVE THE RAIN. 
 OH MY GOSH. This dude asked me if I was afraid of animals.. I said no... and then out of NOWHERE had RATS. 
 EEEEEKKKK. Yeah no thanks!
 We stayed up... actually we were forced to stay up because people were shooting FIREWORKS at our house. The whole town is LOCO. They were up shooting off fireworks for forever.. So I finally just climbed on the roof and watched. HAPPY NEW YEAR. Compi cooked some chicken with vanilla (I'd reccomend it) because apparently thats what you do.. Eat at midnight. Burn all the bad things that happened during the year. And eat 12 grapes. WOOP WOOP. 
 The Elders helped decorate the church. And were super excited to be in a picture.

We found the CUTEST puppies.

Things I love: Noche de Hogar or in English, Family Home Evening. We teach a short lesson and then we PLAY GAMES. For all my friends that LOVE games (not, all my friends hate games)BUT I have some new ones!!! And if anyone has any ideas for games with children SEND THEM MY WAY!! My compy does not trust me to protect her. The other night we finished a lesson at 8:20pm . We typically have to be home between   9 and 9:30pm   everynight. Normally I’d just say lets go home… but this night I said, “LETS GO TEACH CLAUS.” He’s getting baptized this Saturday so we have lots of lessons to teach him. My comp looked at me and said it was too dark and too dangerous. WHAT?!?! I could totally protect us!! The elders were with us and looked at my comp and said, “Lets go!”. My comp looked at the elders and said, “All of us together?! YEAH!”…    I started laughing so hard. WHAT?!?! Oh, ok cool. You’ll trust the elders and NOT ME?!?! Week 38: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Super short this week!!! But enjoy the pics. AND if you want a letter for Christmas SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS and I will send you one. Love you all!!! Things I love: We had an activity in the church and PEOPLE CAME! Normally we can expect maybe 20 people BUT this time we had 90 people come!!!! WAHOOO. We had a “Noche de Cine” – a movie night in the church. I spent ALLLLLL night cooking popcorn. I made over 30 batches of popcorn. WOOP. So you can add that to my new list of talents.   FRESH FRUIT. Alright I may have already wrote about this BUT there is a fruit truck that drives around here and they have SO MUCH FRESH FRUIT. This morning we chased down the fruit truck (because for some reason it couldn’t see two white giants running down the road) and for less than THREE DOLLARS $3$ I got 25 bananas, a papaya, and 8 mangos. WHAT!? Sorry mom, I’m never coming home. I’m staying just for the fruit ;) Things I’m learning to love: OH MY GOSH. The animal drama in the home...

Week 72: The Dreaded Weekly Email

Things I love: This week we visited a family whose family situation is a little rough. The mom is alone with her three kids. They live in a mud house with one room which has their beds, kitchen and everything. They mom began to lose her eyesight about a year ago and can hardly see now. The mom is a member but her kiddos aren't. She asked if we could help her teach her kids. Her one son is SUPER travieso.... or difficult. Everytime we asked if he liked going to church or if he wanted to learn he glared at us and said NO. Every word that left his mouth was NO! I had brought my book of mormon with pictures and I felt like I should share it with him. We began teaching from the book and he began to become interested.... He even said YES! What the! When we ended we asked him if he could end with a prayer and he said YES! What!?!?! Seeing the change in this little kid was a miracle! We helped Rucelvy (our convert) wash a blanket..... haha but it weighed about 50lbs when it was wet! ...
